WHAT IS TRADITIONAL EAST ASIAN MEDICINE?

Traditional East Asian Medicine (T.E.A.M.) encompasses Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Dietary Therapy, Chinese (Tuina) and Japanese (Shiatsu) massage, Sotai Therapy, Exercise programs, and many adjunctive therapies. It originated over 3,000 years ago in China, and from here it spread throughout Asia: and then on to the Western cultures. T.E.A.M. is based on the ancient Chinese philosophies of Taoism, Yin and Yang, and the Five Elements.

These philosophies were created through observations of the natural world. The Chinese realised that what was occurring in nature was also mirrored and occurring within us, thus affecting our health. They went on to devise a powerful and versatile health care system that works curatively, but truly excels on a preventative level.
